Kerem Başbuğ founded Soldering Practice Kit and is responsible for every guide, review and ranking on the site — currently 55 products and the guides that sit alongside them. The aim is simple: help people learning to solder spend their money on the kits and tools that actually make the skill easier to learn.
He also runs a small group of independent sites about other build-it-yourself hobbies: metal model kits, book nook kits and 3D puzzles. The sites are separate, but they share the same approach to research and the same rules about honesty.
How the reviews are made
Reviews and rankings here are research-based editorial judgements, not laboratory tests. Each product is assessed from its full specification and what is actually in the box, compared against every direct alternative the site covers, and weighed against the pattern of owner feedback.
